Instructions:
If you know the coordinates of a point, fill these in and you will see a map at 1" = 1000'. Choose either Latitude/Longitude or State Plane for the Coordinate System. Latitude/Longitude are NAD 1983 datum and decimal degree units. Convert degrees, minutes, and seconds (DMS) to decimal degrees (DD). State Plane coordinates are NAD 1983 datum and in units of meters.

If you only know the county, you will see a map of the county that allows you to choose the quadrangle.

If you know the quadrangle, you will see the outline of the topographic map. You can now Zoom , Pan, or other mapping functions. When you zoom to part of the map, then the topo map or aerial photo will turn on.

Choose the base layer for your map by selecting either DRG (USGS 7.5-minute topographic map, 1993 DOQQ (a black and white aerial photo from 1993), or 1998 DOQQ (a color infrared aerial photo from 1998). Currently, 1998 DOQQs are only available for the eastern part of the state.
